Product description
The Gutter Grip system consists of 3 components, the gutter strip, the gutter rod and the gutter spacer:The Gutter Strip
- The gutter strip can be fixed onto timber and metal fascia or anywhere eave guttering is to be used.
- Gutter Grip is fixed using screws or rivets.
- When installed to the appropriate fall, the back edge of the gutter is snapped into the gutter strip and is held in place by the formed lugs of the strip.
- The Gutter Grip system can be installed on the fascia with the roof cladding in place.
- The gutter strip can be installed at any desired fall or freeboard.
- Can be installed using a flashing as a continuous overflow method.
- By using a 10 mm spacer with the strip a continuous overflow provision can be achieved.
- The gutter strip can be butted together when installed to provide continuous fixing. However a practice of fixing strips 500mm from internal and external corners and leaving a 500mm gap between ends of strips proves more than satisfactory
- The gutter strip is manufactured from high quality zincalume
The Gutter Rod
- The gutter rod is manufactured from zinc coated steel wire
- The gutter rod requires no fixings and is designed to engage the front bead of the gutter at one end and clip into the gutter strip at the other. This provides strength to the front edge of the gutter and maintains a good line.
- It is recommended that the gutter rod be installed at a maximum of 2m centres. In snow areas or where support for leaf guard is required rods can be installed at 550mm centres.
- The gutter rod has a unique feature as it can be removed and replaced even when the roof cladding is installed. This is useful for cleaning debris from gutters.
The Gutter Spacer

- The gutter spacer is specially designed to clip onto the back of the gutter strip prior to the gutter strip being installed.
- The spacer is positioned so that when the gutter strip is fixed the screw passes through the spacer and into the fascia. This fixes the spacer between the fascia and the gutter strip in one action.
- The gutter spacer is 10 mm thick, which provides a 10 mm gap between the fascia and the back of the gutter, therefore providing a 10 mm continuous weir gap overflow provision which is a requirement of the Building and Plumbing codes of Australia.
Product advantages and features
- Simple, easy and fast to install.
- No need to lift the roof cladding when replacing guttering unlike other fixing methods for example the spring clip system.
- Lower costs as the number of down pipes and sub ground pipes can be reduced when using the Gutter Grip system compared to slotted gutter systems.
- No need for unsightly slots or external brackets giving a smooth finish.
- Can be used on a wide range of gutter types, styles and colours.
- Suits both timber and metal fascias.
- Very minimal wastage and waste is 100% recyclable.
- Consistently strong – no bowing or sagging.
- Provides a cost effective continuous overflow when used with the Gutter Grip Spacer.
- No need to stock a range of colours and styles.
- Tradesmen using the Gutter Grip system find it easier to provide a consistent fall
The savings to the fixer will be across the board with initial purchase savings, no stocking of brackets required therefore resulting in inventory savings, speed in fixing (time savings) and no down time waiting for extra or incorrectly ordered or supplied brackets.
